Working on a funded research project with Cybersecurity Karnataka (CysecK) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to develop a secure lightweight distributed framework for auditing shared data of smart applications using ‘Fully Homomorphic Encryption’ in cloud storage.
Research Cybersecurity Homomorphic encryptionBuilt an object-detection based recommendation engine for advertising using deep learning. The main idea of the project is a unique recommendation system which analyses the objects in a video and recommend the most relevant advertisement to the customer on the basis of the frequency of the objects detected in the frames of the video as well as the various parameters related to the business model. The technologies and languages which were used for this purpose were Tensorflow for the implementation of object detection, Python for building the recommender & the object detection model and MERN stack for the web application to demonstrate the working of "EngineTube".
Recommender Object Detection Deep LearningAn android application for storing the memories of people when they visit new places. Built using the MVP architecture. The pictures are taken using the Camera API. There is a feed section and a map section as well. The map section clusters the memories of the people on the map using the Google Maps API which can be viewed by clicking on the icon. Feed section shows the posts of the friends and the public.

View on GithubAn android application built during the "Hex Cambridge" hackathon. It takes in the details of the student and his expenditure and checks whether he is spending wisely. The main idea for the application is to motivate the students to check his expenditure in a gamified manner. If he does, he is given 'fluffy' coins. There is a leaderboard of the students to see how they compare with other students. They can redeem the fluffy coins in entertainment places who are tied up with us like a cinema hall, opera etc. If they spend lesser than the estimated amount for entertainment, they get more fluffy coins.
View on GithubIn this new era of expansion in the cyber space, it is not just the IT domain that is vulnerable to cyber-attacks but also the Industrial Control Systems (ICS). ICS is vital in the functioning of almost all the industries either directly or indirectly. As we progress in the direction of Industry 4.0, the challenges with respect to the security of these systems and the data associated with it needs to be addressed. Vulnerability of these systems to various attacks in the past, increases the need for a secured infrastructure. In this paper, the security of ICS along with the importance of software patching and the calculation of the risk associated with the negligence in the process is discussed.

With the emergence of cyberspace as a strategic domain like the air, land and water there is a need to address the possibilities of cross-domain attacks involving cyberspace. Cross-domain deterrence involves making retaliatory threats from one domain to prevent attacks from another. Attacks on Cyber Physical Systems through cyberspace is not futuristic as evidenced from the recurrent attacks happening globally. Hence, cross-domain deterrence even though not new, has heightened relevance now-a-days. This paper includes arguments and analysis on the need for Cross Domain Deterrence based on the premise that cyber attacks are the new norm and forms a part of a broader attack on any Country. The arguments in favour of cross-domain response are presented in an analytical manner and a feasible working solution for employing Cross-domain response with special reference to India is suggested.

With the exponential increase in online advertising, it has become increasingly important to determine new and innovative methods to identify the right advertisement to display to the consumer. Current methods of recommendations for advertisements employed by popular streaming platforms use the implicitly and explicitly collected data of the users for recommending advertisements. These recommendations may not always be accurate, and a user could be bogged down by a huge number of ads from irrelevant domains. Our research focuses on a novel approach for advertising which utilizes object detection for recommending advertisements. In its current state, this idea is based on the frequency of objects detected in the frames of the video. The main outcome was that our recommender engine performed better in terms of the relevancy of the advertisement, when compared to existing systems, most notable of which is YouTube. We also note that the privacy of the user is also improved, since their personal data is not being collected in order to recommend advertisements. In terms of future scope, we identify some key areas of improvement, such as the further classification of the objects detected into sub domains, making for more fine-tuned recommendations, as well as factors involving the selection of videos such as quality, duration and relevance.
